Cannabis EducationProducts Cannabis Consumption Methods: Vapes, Joints, Bongs & More

May 05, 2023

There are quite a few ways to consume cannabis, depending on your personal preferences. Here’s a basic guide to the most popular consumption methods.

Joints

Joints are a small, convenient option for smoking. Joints are made by rolling dried flower in rolling papers. You can opt to roll your own, which gives you the advantage of choosing exactly which cannabis and rolling papers to use. If you would rather have a convenient grab-and-go option, you can buy pre-rolled joints instead.

Bongs

Bongs are popular with those who want more intensity from their smoking experience. A bong is made of glass, with a mouthpiece, a bowl, and a section at the bottom that holds water. To smoke weed from a bong, make sure that it is thoroughly cleaned first. Add some water to the bottom section, then pack the bowl with your favorite bud. Light the bud and inhale through the mouthpiece. You should hear the water in the bottom make a bubbling sound. If you are new to using a bong, go slow at first, since this method of consuming cannabis is quite potent and may hit you harder than you expect.

Pipes

Pipes are a much more portable option than bongs that offer smaller hits and generally a less potent smoking experience than a bong. Pipes are great if you want a portable way to pack a bowl. They come in a number of materials, including glass, wood, or metal. You can find pipes in a ton of different styles and shapes to suit your preferences.

Vapes

A vape is a convenient and discreet way to consume cannabis. Vapes work by heating your cannabis flower or concentrate at a high enough temperature that the cannabinoids and terpenes vaporize instead of burn. This can be easier on your lungs than conventional smoking, so many cannabis users opt for a vape over traditional smoking methods.

Edibles

Cannabis edibles and beverages are another excellent option for those who want to enjoy the benefits of cannabis in a smoke-free form. Edibles have come a long way from the classic homemade brownies. Now, you can find cannabis-infused gourmet chocolates, sour gummies, refreshing craft beverages, and more to satisfy your taste buds.
