Cannabis Educationcbd CBD Oil FAQ

Oct 17, 2022

If you are new to using CBD oil, you probably have some questions. Here are the most common questions answered to help you get started with this product.

How is CBD Oil Made?

CBD oil is made by using a solvent to extract the cannabinoid CBD from the cannabis plant. This is usually done using CO2 or alcohol extraction. The CBD extract is then mixed with a carrier oil, such as hemp oil or MCT oil, in order to dilute it.

How Can I Use CBD Oil?

CBD oil can be consumed in a number of different ways, including:

  • Tinctures
  • Topicals
  • Oil vaping
  • Capsules

What Does Taking CBD Oil Feel Like?

CBD is not psychoactive and does not have intoxicating properties, so you won’t feel high when you consume it. Everyone reacts differently, but you might feel your body become more relaxed and less tense. Because CBD oil does not make you feel intoxicated the way THC products do, many people use CBD oil if they want the benefits of cannabis but do not want the high feeling.

How Long Does CBD Take to Kick in?

This depends on how you are consuming CBD and on your body’s individual reaction. Generally, when CBD is vaped or taken sublingually (by putting a few drops of CBD oil under your tongue) it will take effect relatively quickly, within about 15 minutes. If you are using CBD topically or ingesting edibles that contain CBD oil, it will likely take longer (expect an hour or more). Keep in mind that everyone’s body responds differently and you should always begin with a small amount to see how it affects you.
